PECS : Cultural Package

Daytrip to Brussels

Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is probably best-known as the seat of the European communities and of NATO. It is, however, also a city of historic interest. When walking around in the city centre, you will most definitely notice the little streets, lined with gabled houses, and the royal palace. You can visit a number of fascinating museums, such as the Royal Museums of Art and History. Brussels has an active cultural life through its many theatres, concerts, festivals, etc. Finally, for those of you who plan to stay a little bit longer than just one day: Brussels has a very busy nightlife too. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.

In the morning, the trip brings us to the European Parliament with an information session on European Institutions and Policy. In the afternoon, we will have a guided tour through the real heart of Brussels. Among other things, you will see the traditional highlights such as the Grand-Place, the world-famous statue of 'Manneken Pis' and the Royal Palace.

If you like Brussels, you can easily go back. It is only € 6 and 20 minutes away from Leuven...
