Antwerp, Belgian's second city, has many attractions. It is one of the world's largest ports, the world's diamond processing center and a true fashion city. On top of that, Antwerp offers a great range of fantastic museums and public buildings, such as the Royal Museum of Contemporary Art, the Rubens House, the Plantin Moretus Museum, the Diamond Museum, etc. The cathedral, the largest one in Belgium, is the city's landmark. In front of the imposing city hall you will see the hand-throwing Brabo who gave Antwerp its name (Antwerpen-Handwerpen). The Antwerp zoo, close to the central station, is one of the oldest in the world.
In the afternoon, we will experience the multicultural aspect of Antwerp. The city is a true cultural melting pot, home
to more than 170 nationalities. A true world in one city, with for instance a large orthodox Jewish community. A guide will show us the shops and buildings of some of the worlds people that call the
city home – the Jewish, Indian, Moroccan and African communities, as well as colourful Chinatown.
