Papyrus Archives in Greco-Roman Egypt

This project collects information about Greek, Demotic and Coptic papyri and ostraca which form part of an ancient archive. Each papyrus has a short entry and a study is made of more than 300 individual archives over a period of one thousand years. This leads to a typology of archives (private and public archives; family archives and business archives; letter archives, bookkeeping archives andd title-deed archives; tomoi synkollesimoi etc.).
