Pieter Huistra (°1984) conducts PhD research at the K.U. Leuven, funded by Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO). The subject of this research project is the Dutch historiography during a crucial phase of its development, from 1830 to 1860. Before starting his PhD he studied history and philosophy in Groningen and Louvain (2002-2008). His Master thesis was an intellectual biography of the Dutch historian and archivist R.C. Bakhuizen van den Brink (1810-1865). His field of interest is the nineteenth and twentieth century cultural history, in particular historiography and historical culture. |
