There are two ways for you to continue your journey on to Leuven.
The simplest but most expensive way would be to take a taxi from the airport. This will cost around € 70.
An alternative and less expensive method would be to take the Leuven bound train at the airport itself. Direct trains now run from Brussels National Airport (Zaventem) to Leuven. The train station is in the main terminal building of the airport. The journey to Leuven takes about 16 minutes, and there are two trains every hour.
For scheduled departure and arrival times, please consult the timetable on the website of the NMBS (Belgian National Railway); enter Brussels Airport as the departure station, and Leuven as the arrival station. You can also choose the time and date, so you can plan your itinerary before you fly.
As of January 2008, the fare to Leuven is 3,10 Euros (second class) and 4,80 Euros (first class). Second class is quite comfortable.
It is advisable to have already some cash in Euro when you arrive in case the money exchange offices would be closed.
